Creating Servers
Getting Started
Section titled “Getting Started”Creating a server on Game Lords is quick and easy. Follow this guide to get your first server up and running.
Step 1: Choose Your Game
Section titled “Step 1: Choose Your Game”- Log in to your Game Lords account
- Click “Create Server” from your dashboard
- Browse the available games or use the search function
- Select your desired game from the list
Popular games include:
- Minecraft (Java & Bedrock)
- Valheim
- Rust
- ARK: Survival Evolved
- Counter-Strike 2
- Garry’s Mod
Step 2: Select Server Specifications
Section titled “Step 2: Select Server Specifications”Server Location
Section titled “Server Location”Choose a server location closest to your players for the best performance:
- North America: New York, Los Angeles, Dallas
- Europe: London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam
- Asia-Pacific: Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney
Server Size
Section titled “Server Size”Select the appropriate server size based on your needs:

Additional Options
Section titled “Additional Options”- Auto Backups: Automatic daily backups (recommended)
- DDoS Protection: Enhanced protection against attacks
- Priority Support: Faster response times for tickets
Step 3: Configure Your Server
Section titled “Step 3: Configure Your Server”Basic Settings
Section titled “Basic Settings”- Server Name: Choose a memorable name for your server
- Server Description: Optional description visible to players
- Password Protection: Set a password if you want a private server
- Max Players: Set the maximum number of concurrent players
Game-Specific Settings
Section titled “Game-Specific Settings”Each game has unique configuration options:
Minecraft
Section titled “Minecraft”- Server Type: Vanilla, Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Forge, Fabric
- Minecraft Version: Choose from available versions
- World Type: Default, Flat, Amplified, etc.
- Difficulty: Peaceful, Easy, Normal, Hard
- Game Mode: Survival, Creative, Adventure
Valheim
Section titled “Valheim”- World Name: Name for your Valheim world
- World Seed: Optional seed for world generation
- Public Server: Whether to list on public server browser
- Combat Mode: PvP enabled or disabled
- Map Size: 1000, 2000, 3000, 4000
- Map Seed: Custom seed or random generation
- Wipe Schedule: Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly
- PvP Settings: Full PvP or PvE zones
Step 4: Review and Deploy
Section titled “Step 4: Review and Deploy”- Review your server configuration
- Check the monthly cost
- Apply any promo codes if available
- Click “Create Server”
- Your server will be deployed within 2-5 minutes
Step 5: First Time Setup
Section titled “Step 5: First Time Setup”Accessing Your Server
Section titled “Accessing Your Server”Once deployed, you’ll receive:
- Server IP Address: Connect using this IP
- Server Port: Required for some games
- Admin Credentials: For server management
- FTP Details: For file management (if applicable)
Initial Configuration
Section titled “Initial Configuration”- Connect to your server using the provided details
- Test the connection to ensure everything works
- Configure admin permissions for yourself
- Set up basic rules and welcome messages
- Install any desired mods or plugins (game-specific)
Common Setup Tasks
Section titled “Common Setup Tasks”Setting Up Admin Access
Section titled “Setting Up Admin Access”Most games require you to grant yourself admin privileges:
- Access your server control panel
- Navigate to “Console”
- Run the appropriate admin command for your game
- Your Steam ID or Minecraft UUID may be required
Installing Mods/Plugins
Section titled “Installing Mods/Plugins”For games that support modifications:
- Go to “File Manager” in your control panel
- Navigate to the mods/plugins folder
- Upload your mod files
- Restart the server
- Check the console for any errors
Backup Configuration
Section titled “Backup Configuration”Set up automatic backups:
- Navigate to “Backups” in your control panel
- Configure backup frequency (daily recommended)
- Set retention period (how long to keep backups)
- Enable automatic backups before updates
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Server Won’t Start
Section titled “Server Won’t Start”- Check the console for error messages
- Verify all required files are present
- Ensure sufficient resources are allocated
- Contact support if issues persist
Can’t Connect to Server
Section titled “Can’t Connect to Server”- Verify the IP address and port
- Check firewall settings on your local machine
- Ensure the server is online in the control panel
- Try connecting from a different network
Performance Issues
Section titled “Performance Issues”- Monitor resource usage in the control panel
- Consider upgrading to a larger server size
- Optimize game settings for better performance
- Remove unnecessary mods or plugins
